About this opportunity: We have two open positions in our management consultancy team: Assistant Sourcing Manager and Sourcing Manager where you’ll join a high energy team that partners with senior stakeholders to shape and deliver strategic consultancy engagements across the organisation. You’ll lead and enable the full sourcing lifecycle — from defining requirements and running competitive tenders to securing great commercial outcomes that support the organisation’s priorities. As a specialist in sourcing processes, tools, and best practice, you’ll be trusted to drive value, protect quality, and help strengthen a resilient supply base. All activity is delivered in line with Group policies and risk frameworks.
In Group Sourcing and Supplier Management (GS&SM), we play a pivotal role in delivering our vision by working closely with our supplier network to deliver value at pace and scale. It's a phenomenal time of change and transformation within the Group, and the GS&SM teams are at the heart of that change.
What You’ll Do:
- As a key member of the Management Consultancy Sourcing team, you’ll play a central role in delivering high profile consultancy engagements and ensuring our business partners receive outstanding sourcing support.
- You’ll manage the end-to-end sourcing cycle for consultancy services — shaping requirements, coordinating market engagement, developing tender documentation, evaluating proposals, and leading commercial and contractual negotiations.
- Apply deep knowledge of contractual terms and conditions to embed robust risk mitigation strategies within supply agreements.
- Build and maintain influential relationships with senior stakeholders to shape priorities and anticipate future consultancy needs.
- Influence stakeholders to apply the right procurement strategies and precedents, guiding them to make optimal buying decisions that deliver value and protect the Bank’s interests.
- Ongoing engagement with strategic suppliers to strengthen partnerships and align delivery with Group objectives.
- Collaborate seamlessly with Management Consultancy Supply Chain teams, Group Cost & Insights, and Professional Services Cost Management to maximise value and deliver excellence across the sourcing lifecycle.
- Champion compliance with Group risk frameworks and regulatory requirements, embedding robust governance across sourcing activities.
- You’ll navigate established policies and procedures to find solutions, resolve queries, and ensure that internal customers receive timely, value adding sourcing support.
- As a Sourcing Manager, you’ll take ownership of shaping and delivering the Management Consultancy strategy for your assigned business areas, lead high-complexity sourcing projects, and drive strategic change initiatives that enhance team capability and performance.
What you’ll need:
- Sourcing Expertise: Proven ability to manage end-to-end sourcing activities and lead commercial negotiations.
- Delivery at Pace: Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-moving environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously to achieve results.
- Relationship Builder: Skilled at developing and nurturing strong partnerships with stakeholders to influence outcomes.
- Commercial Acumen: Confident in challenging the status quo and applying commercial thinking to deliver enhanced value.
- Contract Management: Experience in managing and delivering outcomes for a portfolio of contracts, coordinating activities related to major contracts within established procurement procedures and risk management systems.
- Market Insight: The ability to maintain an up-to-date understanding of the consultancy supply market as well as developing an understanding of the wider influences on that market including technology.
- Personal Growth: A willingness to grow your capabilities by pursuing and investing in personal development opportunities.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using procurement systems and tools to manage sourcing activities effectively.
