Hours: Full-time

What you'll be doing:

  • Build production-grade AI and machine learning solutions that make a real difference for millions of customers.
  • Join a growing team delivering machine learning, generative AI and agentic AI solutions across Lloyds Banking Group's Consumer business.
  • Work closely with data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders to take innovative ideas from experimentation through to live production.
  • Develop and maintain ML and AI applications in Python, designing and integrating solutions with cloud platforms, APIs, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
  • Influence technical decisions, advocate for engineering best practice and shape the standards, architecture and culture of the team.
  • Collaborate across platform, architecture, governance and business teams to deliver secure, scalable and well-governed solutions.
  • Contribute to incident management, continuous improvement and the future direction of AI engineering within the Group.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years' experience delivering software solutions across the full development lifecycle, including taking machine learning or AI solutions from experimentation through to live production environments.
  • Advanced software engineering expertise, including software design patterns, programming concepts, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and production deployments.
  • Strong Python development experience in a commercial machine learning environment, including libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-Learn and XGBoost.
  • Experience working with cloud-based machine learning and data platforms, including technologies such as Vertex AI, BigQuery, Cloud Run or equivalent cloud services.
  • Practical experience implementing MLOps tooling and frameworks such as Kubeflow Pipelines, dbt or similar solutions, including monitoring and operationalising large-scale models.
  • Experience working with Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, API authentication and distributed systems within enterprise environments.
  • Exposure to Generative AI and Agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, ADK or similar technologies.
  • Experience configuring and optimising Large Language Models (LLMs), balancing performance, risk and cost considerations.
  • Experience partnering with architecture, platform, governance and risk teams to successfully deploy solutions into production.
  • Knowledge of retail banking, lending products or regulated financial services environments.
