As part of this transformation, we're looking for a Network Engineer to join our Private Cloud Platform team. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of network infrastructure at Lloyds Banking Group, supporting our ambition to become the UK's leading FinTech.
You'll play a key role in designing, building and evolving the network technologies that underpin our cloud ecosystem. Working in a collaborative, engineering-led environment, you'll help drive our infrastructure modernisation agenda, championing automation, security and reliability at every stage. Through infrastructure-as-code and automation-first practices, you'll help reduce manual effort, enable safe and repeatable change, and deliver platforms that can scale to meet the needs of our customers and colleagues.
You'll work closely with engineers, architects, product teams and senior stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performing network services, contributing to the design and continuous improvement of our cloud platforms. Whether you're solving complex technical challenges, influencing future platform direction or helping teams adopt standard process, you'll have the opportunity to make a real impact.
Along the way, you'll collaborate with colleagues across the organisation and external partners, contribute to infrastructure roadmaps, support risk and security initiatives, and help ensure our platforms remain resilient and future-ready. You'll also have the opportunity to share your expertise, mentor others and help grow engineering capability across the wider team.
Working in an agile environment, you'll take ownership of your work, use modern engineering tools and practices, and play a hands-on role in delivering the next generation of cloud and network services.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer with expertise in cloud environments.
- Expert knowledge of Networking technologies and services (NSX, VXLAN, ACI, BGP).
- Strong troubleshooting skills and support experience with network technologies and tools.
- Strong experience in writing technical design documents.
- Any experience of these would be really useful:
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and Google Cloud.
- Experience in developing, maintaining and supporting networks in NSX.
- Good understanding and familiarity with automation tooling; Terraform, Ansible, Github.
- Monitoring the automation of network deployment and configuration.
- Good understanding of VXLAN/Geneve technologies.
- Good understanding of VMware virtual infrastructure.
- Experience of Service Design & associated methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience of large scale data migrations.
