The Role

To manage the effective and efficient delivery of a high class financial processing service across the Corporation, Overseas and the wider Lloyd’s Market. To manage the Lloyd’s market settlement service for processing of all premiums, claims, reinsurance transactions, ensuring that it is an efficient and well controlled service which meets current and future business requirements.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Manage delivery of a high class financial processing service to the Lloyd’s Market, including all daily settlement processing, Worldlink processing, Shared Services and quarterly trust fund adjustments.
  • Manage delivery of the financial processing services to the Corporation, Overseas and Members Services ensuring processes are appropriate and effective.
  • Manage the operation of the Letter of Credit (LOC) Scheme process for the Lloyd’s Market, including engaging with external stakeholders to ensure that the transactions are processed in accordance with requests.
  • Provide the Lloyd’s Market and Corporation with support in respect of all financial processing. Keep abreast of market developments, working in a collaborative way with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to ensure that new services are upgraded or implemented as required.
  • Ensure process and controls are adequately documented and designed and operate effectively on a continuous basis. Co-ordinate and manage the preparation of the audit report for the Lloyd’s Market settlement process.
  • Manage the day to day activities of the team and review their work as required.
  • Undertake effective direction and mentoring to ensure knowledge sharing across the operations team.
  • Define, plan and agree team targets and standards that support the attainment of the organisation’s objectives including personal development plans and conducting six monthly performance reviews.
  • Driving process improvement, system development and increasing efficiencies in the way we work.
  • Manage an effective business continuity plan for the Lloyd’s Market Settlement service. Oversee, organise and perform the Settlement business continuity testing.
  • Authorising of Bankline and Citibank payments in accordance with Council Delegated authorities.
  • Provide support to other Finance Operations teams as required.
  • Deputise for the Head of Finance Operations as required.
