An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join our newly acquired Lloyd Land Rover site in Stockton.
This is a fantastic chance to be part of a fresh chapter in our business, supporting the finance function as we integrate the dealership into the wider Lloyd Motor Group.
As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the Retailer Accountant in all aspects of dealership accounting, including the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and analysis of key financial performance indicators. You’ll ensure accuracy and compliance in all financial processes while providing vital support to operational managers, helping them to understand and manage their financial performance.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Role Responsibilities
- Assistance with the preparation of monthly management accounts to tight reporting deadlines for our manufacturer.
- Joint responsibility in managing a small accounts team and Sales Administrators.
- Reconciliation of month end control accounts and vehicle funding line.
- Vehicle Stock Checks and reconciliation.
- Monthly payroll preparation
- Supporting and supplying departmental managers with financial analysis as required.
- Other ad hoc duties as required such as debt chasing and compliance and risk analysis.
- Promoting and actively encouraging positive working relationships within the team and wider business, leading by example, and fostering inclusivity.
Ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes
- Previous experience in a Assistant Accountant role.
- ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified or working towards is desirable.
- Experience of working within the motor industry in an accounting role is desirable.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Working knowledge of Keyloop Autoline would be advantageous.
- Accuracy and ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- A great team player, working alongside others with integrity, positivity and respect.
- Confidentiality and discretion are a must.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
