About the Role

As a specialist subcontractor, our Project Managers are responsible for both the overall management of the project and the day-to-day management of works on site. This is therefore a hands-on role involving client liaison, labour management, health and safety, quality control, programme management and project administration.

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of painting and decorating works and be confident managing people on a construction site. Previous management experience is beneficial, although training and development will be provided on the job for someone with the right practical knowledge, attitude and potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of painting and decorating works on assigned projects.
  • Manage painters, subcontractors and labour on site.
  • Liaise directly with the main contractor's Project Managers, Site Managers and other trades.
  • Monitor the programme and ensure sufficient labour and materials are available to meet project requirements.
  • Understand painting specifications, preparation requirements, coatings, finishes and quality standards.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections and manage snagging and defect close-out.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly project/site packs, including progress photographs, labour information, health and safety records and other required documentation.
  • Deliver and record toolbox talks.
  • Ensure operatives understand and comply with RAMS, PPE requirements and site rules.
  • Manage health and safety for LLC Group's painting works and address unsafe practices immediately.
  • Coordinate material requirements, deliveries and access with the site team.
  • Maintain accurate records of progress, labour, materials and outstanding works.
  • Attend project and site meetings and provide clear progress updates.
  • Manage communication between LLC Group, the client and the site team.
  • Assist with project handover, snagging and completion.
  • Identify problems early and work with the wider LLC Group team to resolve programme, quality or site issues.

Essential Requirements

SMSTS, First Aid and a valid CSCS card are required.

Candidates should also have a good practical understanding of painting and decorating, be comfortable managing operatives, understand construction health and safety, communicate confidently with clients and site teams, and be organised enough to manage the paperwork and administration that comes with running a project.

This role would suit an experienced Painting Supervisor, Foreman, Painting Manager or developing Project Manager who is ready to take greater responsibility for running projects.
