About the Role
LLC Group is looking for a proactive Construction Labour Coordinator to source, coordinate and maintain a reliable network of labour for our painting and drylining projects. A key requirement for this position is the ability to speak Romanian fluently, as the role will involve regularly communicating with Romanian-speaking tradespeople and construction gangs, as well as communicating in English with LLC Group's management and project teams. This is not a traditional recruitment role. Your focus will be on finding reliable painters, dryliners, fixers, labourers and gangs, building relationships with them and maintaining an active network that LLC Group can use across current and upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Source painters, dryliners, fixers, labourers and construction gangs.
- Build strong relationships with Romanian-speaking tradespeople and gang leaders.
- Regularly contact workers to understand their availability and upcoming commitments.
- Maintain an organised database of workers, including trade, experience, rates, availability and previous performance.
- Speak with new workers to understand their experience and suitability for LLC Group projects.
- Check CSCS cards and other relevant qualifications and documentation.
- Work closely with Project Managers to understand upcoming labour requirements.
- Coordinate workers' proposed start dates, site locations and onboarding information.
- Source additional labour quickly when projects require increased manpower.
- Continuously develop new contacts through referrals, existing gangs, construction networks, WhatsApp groups and direct outreach.
- Maintain relationships with good workers even when they are not currently working for LLC Group.
Essential Requirements
- Fluent Romanian and English – essential.
- Valid CSCS card – essential, as the role will involve visiting live construction sites and meeting workers and Project Managers.
- Confident speaking with tradespeople and building long-term working relationships.
- Strong communication and telephone skills.
- Organised and able to maintain accurate labour and availability records.
- Persistent and proactive when searching for workers.
- Comfortable dealing with individuals, gang leaders and Project Managers.
- Previous recruitment experience is not required. Construction knowledge, particularly within painting, drylining or interior fit-out, would be beneficial, but training can be provided.
The main objective is to build a strong and reliable labour network so that when LLC Group needs additional painters, fixers or a complete gang, we already have suitable people we can contact.
Starting rate: from £120 per day, depending on experience and skill level.
