We have a great opportunity for someone with a passion for getting cows in calf and dealing with fresh cows. This is a non-milking role which concentrates on the herd's health on a 1,000-cow unit which is fully housed. The primary focus for this role is the serving of cows which are identified using collars and also fixed time serving.
Alongside this, you will be carrying out fresh-cow checks and dealing with any sick cows in the herd. You will also be responsible for identifying any lame cows and drafting them out for the contract hoof trimmer.
This position would be ideal for someone who has been an AI technician but wants to concentrate their skills on a single farm and work within a team.
In return for your efforts, we offer a highly competitive salary with bonus schemes, regular time off and accommodation free from rent and council tax. The house available is a lovely 3-bedroom family house within a short drive of the farm, which is double glazed and has central heating.
