We have a contract vacancy for an assistant herdsperson/GFW on a robotic unit in Dorset. This exceptionally well-managed family farm has 140 pedigree Holsteins yielding 12,500 litres, from two Lely astronaut milking units, with exceptional attention to detail.
The appointed person will be working alongside the farmer and daughter, with duties to include:
- Feeding
- Scraping
- Bedding
- Youngstock work
- Fencing
- Maintaining the robots
The candidate must be adaptable with all farm tasks, possess a can-do attitude, and have a very high welfare attitude towards the livestock. An ability to manage day-to-day operations while the farmer is off the farm is also required.
A refurbished 3-bedroom semi-detached house on the farm will be supplied along with a competitive package for a 50-hour average week.
