An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Herdsperson to join a family-run dairy and arable farm near Sevenoaks, Kent. The herd comprises of 195 autumn block-calving cows, cubicle housed and TMR fed/grazed. We are looking for someone who takes pride in high standards of stockmanship, milk production and herd health. The herd is milked through a 20:20 parlour with feeding, Auto ID and shedding. The farm is situated about 3 miles from Sevenoaks; a large town with every facility and full range of amenities set in beautiful countryside. London is 30 minutes by train.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the dairy herd, working closely with the farm owners to maintain a productive, healthy, and efficient operation.
- Key responsibilities:
- Daily management and care of the dairy herd
- Milking
- Herd health monitoring and maintaining high welfare standards
The role can develop with:
- Record keeping and data management
- Responsibility for farm supplies and dairy consumables
- Calf and youngstock care as required
- General farm work and maintenance duties
- Assisting with other farm operations when required
We seek an enthusiastic person who has:
- Some dairy farming background and experience
- A focus on stockmanship and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently within a team
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- A desire for training with for example: foot trimming and artificial insemination if applicable

- Spacious, detached 2-bedroom cottage with central heating is provided on the farm
- Every other weekend off rota (52 days) with a further 80 days off per contract year
