We have contract vacancy for an experienced herdsperson to join a family farming operation near Frome in Somerset.
This 400-cow herd of Holsteins are August to December calving and yielding 9,300 litres on 2 x milking via a 20/40 Swing-over De Laval, Herringbone parlour, with in parlour feed, auto- ID, a flush and segregation gate.
Conventional grazing is practiced during the summer and while housed cows get full TMR.
The appointed person will need to be focused on clean milk production, be able to manage the herd day-to-day while AI and foot trimming undertaken by other team members.
A competitive package, to go along with a house in the village. Going forward there is to be a new 4-bedroom house built on farm.
