We currently have a vacancy for an experienced stockperson on our dairy farm in East Yorkshire. This is a varied role focusing on the day-to-day care for the herd and allows the right candidate to be a key part in all aspects of the system, including but not limited to: • Regular foot trimming • Milking in our modern, 76-point rotary parlour • Monitoring pre/post-partum animals and aiding with birthing ( • Training and rearing youngstock on an ad-lib automatic milk machine system • All associated youngstock tasks including vaccinations, regular weighing and dehorning • Administering and recording veterinary medicines (none used in the milking herd) • Operating machinery to carry out the bedding and feeding of the herd using telehandlers, a straw chopper/blower and tub mixer. Involvement in mucking out and harvest operations during busy periods (carting straw, silage) This role would suit somebody with a good base of experience, although a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally important as on the job training and support will be provided. The successful candidate would be expected to work well and communicate within our existing team of full and part time staff as well as working on their own initiative.
