The predicted salary is between 25000 - 42000 £ per year.

Due to impending retirement, we have a very exciting new contract for a vacancy on an in-hand farming estate near Dulverton in the Exmoor National Park. The estate’s enterprises are based on 2000 acres of predominately grassland, 1250 acres of moorland and 400 acres of woodland. The main enterprises are a 500 suckler cow herd, a 700-ewe flock, a let shoot, a firewood business and a 25-berth bunk barn.

Responsibilities

  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing cars, 4x4 vehicles, tractors and machinery.
  • Welding and fabrication work.
  • Ensuring machinery is routinely checked and safe to operate.
  • Carrying out general estate and farm equipment repairs.

Operating from a centralised, well-equipped workshop, you will liaise with both farm and estate workers to ensure that their equipment is available and ready when required.

Qualifications

  • We seek an organised individual with a strong work ethic capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
  • You will have good mechanical experience and be experienced in operating, servicing and maintaining tractors and farm machinery.

Work Schedule

Your working week will generally be Monday to Friday with some out of hours/weekend work during silage/hay making.
