Our client requires a highly motivated individual capable of leading an existing, settled team managing a large herd near Tiverton in Devon. The business currently milks on three sites with one dry cow unit and a number of young stock units.
Working alongside the operations manager and reporting directly to the business owner, your role will be the responsibility of the main herd ensuring all cow operations are carried out in a timely and effective manner. You will oversee the milking and yard teams, while performing all herd health tasks. AI, foot trimming, vaccinations, drying off and records will be your domain as well as fresh cow management and dealing with sick cows; you will only cover a milking in an emergency.
You will have a proven track record of elite stockmanship and be able to demonstrate excellent people management skills, a passion for the dairy cow and the drive to achieve agreed targets. A fabulous package, to include accommodation, awaits the successful candidate that will reflect the importance of this position.
