I am working with a highly regarded firm seeking a Commercial Associate to join a growing and highly regarded commercial team based in Reading. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated lawyer to take the next step in their career, working on a broad range of high-quality commercial matters within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.

You will work closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers, gaining exposure to complex and varied work while also contributing to business development and client relationship management. What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing a varied caseload of commercial matters, including:
    • Commercial contracts and agreements
    • Supply of goods and services agreements
    • Terms and conditions
    • Partnership and shareholder agreements
    • Wider commercial advisory work across multiple sectors
  • Advising clients on day-to-day commercial legal issues via meetings, written advice, and telephone consultations
  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts
  • Supporting corporate transactions with associated commercial contract input
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships with both new and existing clients
  • Assisting with business development activities, including networking, webinars, and client seminars
  • Working collaboratively across departments on cross-referral matters
  • Ensuring compliance with internal risk and regulatory procedures
  • Keeping up to date with developments in commercial law and contributing to internal know-how
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members where appropriate

  • Ideally 2–5 PQE in a Commercial Law or Commercial Contracts role
  • Strong experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Solid understanding of core commercial legal principles
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage a busy workload
  • Proactive, commercial, and client-focused approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
