We are seeking an experienced MEP Manager to oversee the full mechanical and electrical services delivery on a major hospital refurbishment and fit-out project in Plymouth. This is a key leadership role ensuring high-quality coordination, integration, and delivery of complex building services within a live healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take full responsibility for managing all MEP works from pre-construction through to commissioning and client handover.
  • Review and coordinate MEP designs, contractor design portion (CDP) submissions, and resolve technical queries.
  • Lead the management of MEP subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices and delivery to programme and quality requirements.
  • Chair MEP coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client representatives to resolve clashes and technical issues.
  • Oversee quality assurance and compliance for all MEP installations in line with NHS and healthcare standards.
  • Develop and implement MEP commissioning strategies, witness testing, and ensure production of comprehensive O&M manuals.
  • Manage post-handover activities including seasonal commissioning, client training, and defect resolution.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to project teams on MEP matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing MEP works on hospital or healthcare projects, particularly in live or occupied environments.
  • Strong technical knowledge of both mechanical and electrical building services systems, including HVAC, BMS, public health, power, lighting, and specialist services.
  • Skilled at managing the interface between MEP design, commercial processes, procurement, and site operations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific regulations, commissioning procedures, compliance, RAMS, and quality close-out processes.
  • Proficient in project planning software such as MS Project or Asta, and experienced in managing technical documentation and commissioning records.
  • Degree or trade-qualified in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid.
