We are currently partnering with a multinational Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation services provider with offices across Europe. With continued demonstrated success on Data Centre projects they are now seeking an experienced HSE Manager to join their team in Canary Wharf.

Responsibilities

  • Risk Assessment and Hazard Identification: Conduct thorough risk assessments of the construction site, identifying potential hazards, and ensuring mitigation measures are put in place to minimize risks to workers, contractors, and the environment.
  • Safety Plan Development and Implementation: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive health, safety, and environmental management plan that outlines procedures, standards, and guidelines to follow during the project.
  • Monitoring Compliance with Safety Regulations: Ensure that all work practices comply with local, national, and international safety standards, codes, and regulations. This includes managing permits, safety inspections, and reporting incidents.
  • Training and Awareness Programs: Provide ongoing safety training and awareness programs for all personnel on the site. This includes induction training for new workers, specialized training for high-risk tasks, and regular safety drills.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate any accidents, near misses, or safety breaches on-site. Compile incident reports, analyse root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Environmental Impact Management: Oversee and manage environmental factors on-site, ensuring that the project follows sustainability practices, including waste management, energy use, pollution prevention, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience in data centre construction projects is required.
  • Relevant third level degree qualification or equivalent in Environmental, Health & Safety.
  • 3+ years’ experience of managing environmental, health and safety on large construction sites.
