Job Description
HSE Manager Retail Travelling role6 Month contract - £300 - £350 per day We are currently supporting a leading main contractor on the appointment of an HSE Manager to oversee a portfolio of retail and new build projects across the South East.
This is a 6-month contract role focused on driving standards across multiple live sites, acting as a visible and proactive presence to ensure compliance, challenge behaviours, and close out issues effectively.
The position will involve travelling to sites across Ramsgate, Strood, Sheppey, Clapton, Berkhamsted, and Crawley, typically covering one site per day.
Responsibilities Site Audits & Compliance Enforcement Carry out regular site visits and audits across multiple projects, ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards while actively challenging non-compliant behaviours.
Issue Identification & Close-Out Identify safety risks, non-conformances, and areas for improvement, taking ownership of driving actions through to resolution and ensuring issues are fully closed out in a timely manner.
Stakeholder Engagement Work closely with site teams, supervisors, and subcontractors to reinforce expectations, promote safe working practices, and maintain consistent standards across all locations.
Reporting & Documentation Produce clear and concise audit reports, track actions, and provide updates to senior management on site performance, recurring issues, and overall compliance.
Travel & Multi-Site Oversight Manage a structured schedule of site visits across a wide geographical area, maintaining a consistent presence and standard of oversight across all projects.
