A leading fit-out main contractor is seeking a proactive, energetic Health & Safety Manager to join their team on a high-profile pharmaceutical facility project in Stevenage. This is a major, fast-paced scheme where attention to detail, strong communication, and a commitment to best practice are essential.
The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you’ll take the lead on driving site safety culture, ensuring full compliance, and supporting construction teams to deliver works to the highest standards. You’ll work closely with project leadership, subcontractors and client stakeholders to maintain a safe, controlled and high-performing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site-based health & safety activities on a major pharmaceutical fit-out
- Conduct inspections, audits, and toolbox talks, driving continuous improvement
- Review RAMS, permits, and H&S documentation from subcontractors
- Advise project teams on compliance, risk mitigation and best practice
- Support incident investigations and produce clear reports and follow-up actions
- Build strong relationships with site teams to encourage a positive safety culture
- Contribute to H&S planning, reporting and ongoing project development
Requirements
- NEBOSH Certificate (preferred)
- Strong, stable background working for reputable main contractors or specialist contractors
- Experience in fit-out, pharmaceutical, cleanroom, or controlled environments beneficial
- Confident communicator with a dynamic, hands-on approach
- Able to influence, engage and lead safety culture on busy sites
