We are currently partnering with a multi-national Project Management consultancy with a global track record of Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical project delivery. Due to continued expansion in the UK region, they are now seeking an experienced Mechanical Associate Director to lead their Mechanical Arm in North London.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Mechanical Building Services Design Delivery: Own the full mechanical design lifecycle for the project, including HVAC, cleanroom air handling, process ventilation, chilled & heating water systems, ensuring all outputs meet pharma-grade performance and GMP standards.
  • Develop Mechanical Design Concepts & Technical Solutions: Produce and oversee mechanical design concepts, technical calculations, equipment selections and system schematics that comply with regulatory, contamination-control and pharmaceutical environmental requirements.
  • Review, Approve & Assure Mechanical Design Outputs: Carry out technical reviews of drawings, specs, models and mechanical design deliverables produced by external consultants, ensuring accuracy, completeness and alignment with the projects design strategy.
  • Manage Mechanical Design Interfaces with Process & Validation: Coordinate closely with process engineering and validation teams to ensure mechanical systems (HVAC, utilities, pressure regimes, cleanroom zoning, etc.) integrate seamlessly with critical production environments.
  • Drive Mechanical Risk Management, Compliance & Change Control: Lead mechanical-focused design risk assessments, ensure compliance with UK regulations and GMP expectations, and manage change control processes for all mechanical modifications, deviations and technical queries.

Requirements

  • Successful candidate must be both Degree Qualified and Chartered.
  • Must have 8+ years experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (Preferably Pharmaceutical).
  • Must be based within a commutable distance of North London.
