We are currently working with a well-established fit out contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Freelance Estimator on an initial 6-7 week contract, with Temp to Perm possibility. The role will focus on Cat A and retail fit out projects across London, offering a hybrid working arrangement with occasional office visits. This is a great opportunity for an estimator who can hit the ground running and support a busy pre-construction team.
Responsibilities
- Cost Estimating & Pricing: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for Cat A and retail fit out projects, working from drawings, specifications, and client requirements.
- Tender Preparation & Submissions: Manage the tender process from initial enquiry through to final submission, ensuring all pricing, documentation, and clarifications are completed to deadline.
- Subcontractor Enquiries & Analysis: Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers, evaluate returned quotations, and carry out detailed cost comparisons to ensure best value.
- Client & Commercial Support: Liaise with internal commercial teams, project managers, and clients to support bid strategies, value engineering, and cost planning where required.
- Hybrid Working & Team Collaboration: Work closely with the pre-construction team in a hybrid capacity, attending office meetings when required and contributing to a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Must have 4+ years experience in a similar position and knowledge of local London rates.
- Must be based within a commutable distance of London.
- Must have excellent communication skills (Both written and oral).
