We are working in partnership with one of the UKs leading specialist joinery contractors, with a turnover exceeding £40 million. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an Assistant Joinery Estimator to join their expanding team.

The Role

You will support the estimating function, contributing to the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimating & Analysis: Produce accurate and competitive cost estimates based on technical drawings and specifications.
  • Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to clarify project requirements and resolve technical queries.
  • Tender Preparation & Take-Offs: Prepare and submit tenders and detailed take-offs, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Supply Chain Engagement: Source and negotiate competitive pricing with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of estimates, tender submissions, and client feedback.

Requirements

  • 3 years experience in estimating within joinery, drylining, or a relevant construction trade background
  • Ability to commute to London as required
  • Ideally immediately available or on a short notice period (up to 1 month)
  • Relevant construction background or qualification preferred
