We are currently partnering with a multidisciplinary consultancy with a global record of successful delivery on a range of projects including, but not limited to, Data Centres, Recladding, Medical Projects, Nursing homes, Clinics and many more. Due to continuous growth, they are now seeking a well experienced Architect to contribute to Fire & Cladding projects in London.
Responsibilities
- Lead Fire Surveys & Assessments Across Existing Building Stock: Undertake and lead detailed internal and external fire surveys on a range of existing buildings, including high-rise residential and complex structures, assessing façade systems, compartmentation, means of escape, and compliance with current fire safety regulations.
- Technical Fire Strategy & Compliance Advisory: Provide expert technical input on fire safety compliance, supporting the development of fire strategies, remediation recommendations, and risk assessments in line with current legislation, guidance (e.g. Building Regulations, PAS standards), and industry best practice.
- Facade & External Wall System Inspections: Carry out intrusive and non-intrusive inspections of external wall systems, identifying materials, build-ups, and potential fire risks associated with cladding, insulation, and interfaces, supporting EWS1-style assessments and remediation strategies.
- Reporting & Client Advisory: Produce clear, detailed technical reports outlining findings, risks, and recommended remedial actions, presenting these to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies while providing ongoing advisory support throughout project lifecycles.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Project Delivery: Collaborate with fire engineers, surveyors, and multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of fire remediation and compliance projects, maintaining strong client relationships and ensuring outputs are delivered on time and to a high technical standard.
Requirements
- Must have relevant degree level qualifications (i.e. Architecture)
- Must have 10+ years’ experience undertaking and leading fire surveys, fire risk assessments, and fire compliance reviews across existing building stock
- Must be based within a commutable distance of London
- Must have extensive experience working within the UK construction industry, with a strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and fire safety standards.
