With a turnover exceeding £120m and a strong pipeline of secured work, this business has built a solid reputation for delivering complex projects across the capital. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Intermediate QS looking to take the next step in their career within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment.
Working closely with senior commercial staff and operational teams, you will play a key role in managing project profitability, supporting commercial strategy, and ensuring financial performance across multiple schemes.
- Commercial Management of Projects: Support the commercial delivery of drylining packages, ensuring profitability is maximised through effective cost control, accurate valuations, and timely applications for payment.
- Subcontractor & Cost Control: Manage subcontractor packages from procurement through to final account, including valuations, variations, and cost reporting. Prepare and submit interim applications, agree variations, and secure payments in line with project timelines.
- Contractual & Risk Management: Review and administer contracts, identify commercial risks, and implement strategies to mitigate exposure while protecting project margins. Liaise effectively with site teams, suppliers, clients, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial operations across projects.
- Reporting & Financial Systems: Maintain accurate financial records, contribute to cost reporting, and utilise internal systems to track project performance.
- Final Accounts: Assist in the preparation and agreement of final accounts, ensuring all commercial aspects are closed out efficiently.
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. 2-3 years experience working with a drylining or specialist subcontractor. Strong commercial awareness with a good understanding of construction contracts. Confident in managing variations, valuations, and subcontractor accounts.
