Our client is a growing regional contractor specialising in leisure construction, refurbishment and conversion projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of a portfolio of projects nationwide.

The company delivers a variety of leisure developments, including new build facilities, refurbishment schemes and the conversion of existing buildings into modern padel court venues and associated leisure spaces. Projects typically range in value from £500k to £2m, requiring a commercially astute Contracts Manager capable of managing multiple projects, supporting project teams and ensuring successful delivery from contract award through to completion.

Based from the Oxfordshire head office, this is a regional role requiring regular travel across the UK to visit live projects, support site teams, attend client meetings and ensure operational performance across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the successful delivery of multiple construction projects across the UK.
  • Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Site Managers and wider delivery teams.
  • Take overall responsibility for programme, commercial performance, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Manage contract administration, procurement, variations, valuations and change control.
  • Review project budgets, forecasts and cost performance alongside the commercial team.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Support project teams in resolving technical, contractual and delivery challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Review project programmes and drive successful completion of schemes.
  • Support business development through maintaining excellent client relationships and repeat business opportunities.
  • Assist with project handover, final accounts and post-completion reviews.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within construction, fit out, refurbishment or leisure sectors.
  • Strong background delivering multiple projects simultaneously, ideally ranging from £500k - £2m.
  • Experience managing refurbishment, conversion, fit out or technically complex projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness with experience managing contracts, variations, budgets and project profitability.
  • Ability to support and lead project teams across multiple locations.
  • Excellent understanding of construction processes, contract management and programme delivery.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a geographically dispersed workload.
  • Willingness to travel regularly throughout the UK.
