We are currently partnering with a leading Contractor who are active across the UK and Europe. Demonstrating success in an array of sectors including but not limited to, Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Energy and many more. Due to continued success, they are looking to further strengthen their team with an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor in Newport.
Responsibilities
- MEP Cost Planning & Control: Manage and report on costs associated with MEP systems, including power, cooling, life safety, BMS, and specialist data centre infrastructure, ensuring alignment with approved budgets.
- Procurement of MEP Packages: Lead or support the procurement of MEP subcontract packages, including tender evaluation, value engineering, and subcontractor appointment.
- Valuations, Variations & Final Accounts: Assess subcontractor valuations, manage change control, and lead the agreement of variations and final accounts for complex MEP systems.
- Technical & Commercial Interface: Work closely with design, construction, and commissioning teams to understand technical requirements and ensure commercial positions reflect design development and site progress.
- Reporting & Risk Management: Produce accurate cost reports and cashflows while identifying commercial risks and opportunities related to MEP scope, procurement, and delivery.
Requirements
- Must have relevant degree level qualifications or equivalent trades background.
- Must have 5+ years experience in a similar role on large-scale construction projects (preferably Data Centres).
- Must be based within a commutable distance of Newport.
