We are partnering with a cradle to grave project delivery partner specialising in planning, commercial and project management. Due to continued growth in their team, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to aid with their civils and utilities projects.

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical Design & Engineering: Lead the mechanical design of water and wastewater infrastructure assets, including pumping stations, treatment works, pipework, valves, and associated mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with UK water industry standards and client specifications.
  • Technical Documentation & Design Deliverables: Produce and review detailed mechanical design deliverables such as calculations, drawings, schedules, and technical reports, working closely with a regional civils utilities contractor to develop practical, buildable solutions.
  • Multidisciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with civil, electrical, and process engineers to integrate mechanical systems within overall project designs, resolving interface issues and supporting constructability and design review workshops.
  • Construction & Site Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, including responding to RFIs, reviewing contractor submissions, and attending site visits to ensure design intent is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.
  • Compliance, Risk & Project Support: Contribute to risk assessments, value engineering, and design reviews while ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, statutory requirements, and water industry best practice.

Requirements

  • Must have relevant degree level qualifications
  • Must have 4+ years experience in a similar role working on water projects
  • Must be based within a commutable distance of South Manchester
  • Must have UK Passport or RTW in the UK
