We are working with a well-established contractor delivering high-quality data centre projects across London. Due to continued growth in their data centre portfolio, they are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Technical Services Manager (MEP) to lead the technical delivery of complex MEP systems on a flagship project in London Docklands. This is a site-based role (5 days a week) and candidates must be commutable to site; no rotation or accommodation is provided.
This is a key position within the delivery team, responsible for driving MEP design, coordination, and technical excellence from early design through to commissioning and handover. You will act as the technical lead on-site, ensuring all systems are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project requirements.
The Role
- Lead MEP design development, technical reviews, and coordination
- Manage BIM coordination and interface with design teams
- Support tendering, procurement, and subcontractor selection
- Oversee delivery of mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Act as the escalation point for technical and coordination issues
- Drive quality, compliance, and cost efficiency across MEP packages
- Work closely with project management, engineering, and commissioning teams
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover of systems
- Champion health & safety and best practice on-site
About You
- Degree qualified in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- 10 years experience in MEP / Building Services delivery
- Minimum 3 years working on data centre or mission-critical projects
- Strong track record of delivering projects from design through to completion
- Experience with BIM coordination and technical management
- Commercially aware with strong problem-solving ability
- Able to work autonomously in a site-based leadership role
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
