Our client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced CSA Construction Manager to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England. This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing the delivery of all Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) works across a major phase of the project, ensuring safe, high-quality and programme-driven execution from construction through to handover. Working closely with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors, design teams and client representatives, you will lead site delivery, coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and drive programme performance across all CSA packages within a complex, fast-paced mission-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of Civil, Structural and Architectural (CSA) construction activities across the project
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality project delivery
- Monitor construction progress and implement recovery plans where required
- Ensure all works comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and client requirements
- Coordinate interfaces between CSA, MEP, commissioning and logistics teams
- Manage site resources, construction sequencing and short-term planning activities
- Review and resolve technical queries, RFIs and design issues with engineering and design teams
- Drive health, safety and environmental performance across all CSA works
- Monitor quality assurance, inspections, snagging and handover activities
- Produce progress reports and attend client, subcontractor and internal coordination meetings
- Support commercial teams with change management, variations and programme reporting
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain programme objectives
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CSA Construction Manager on major construction projects
- Previous experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, semiconductor or large-scale industrial developments
- Strong technical knowledge of civil, structural and architectural construction
- Experience managing multiple subcontractors across complex, fast-paced project environments
- Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, quality management and programme delivery
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
- SMSTS and CSCS qualifications
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams
