Overview
In this client-side role, you lead the commissioning strategy and delivery for data centre projects, spanning design through live operations. You will oversee mechanical systems, ensure operability, and manage CxA, contractors, and vendors. You’ll drive FAT, SAT, IST, and handover, while supporting operational readiness and asset lifecycle. Work across multi-site initiatives with cross-functional teams to raise commissioning standards and enable reliable, scalable data centres.

Responsibilities
- Lead client-side commissioning strategy, governance and delivery across data centre projects
- Provide technical oversight of mechanical/MEP systems and critical infrastructure
- Review designs for commissionability, maintainability and operational readiness
- Manage and oversee Commissioning Authority (CxA), commissioning contractors and vendors
- Lead and witness FAT, SAT, IST and L1–L5 / L6 commissioning processes
- Review ITPs, test scripts, commissioning documentation and handover dossiers
- Drive defect, snag and punch-list close-out through client acceptance
- Collaborate with Design, Construction, Project Management and Operations teams
- Support live data centre commissioning, operational readiness and asset lifecycle works
- Drive commissioning standards, lessons learned and continuous portfolio improvement
Key requirements
- Strong Data Centre commissioning experience
- Mechanical Building Services / MEP background
- Previous client-side / owner / developer / operator experience
- Experience across hyperscale and colocation data centres
- Strong L1–L5 / L6, FAT, SAT and IST experience
- Experience managing CxA, contractors and vendors
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, BMS / Controls and critical mechanical systems
- Experience with design assurance, commissioning programmes and handover
- Understanding of ASHRAE, resilience, availability and fault tolerance
- Willingness to undertake international travel
