We are currently partnering with a multi-national Project Management consultancy with a global track record of Life Sciences and Pharmaceutical project delivery. Due to continued expansion in the UK region, they are now seeking an experienced Accounts Controller to oversee their accounting in North London.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Full Financial Management of Allocated Client Accounts: Take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, cashflow tracking and monthly account performance reviews, ensuring accurate financial reporting and alignment with commercial targets across multiple live projects.
  • Lead End-to-End Billing, Invoicing & Revenue Assurance Activities: Manage the entire billing lifecycle, including validation of chargeable hours, subcontractor costs, change requests and reimbursables. Resolve discrepancies, maintain audit trails, and ensure revenue is captured, approved and issued on time.
  • Provide Insightful Financial Analysis to Support Project & Commercial Teams: Deliver detailed cost analysis, variance explanations, risk and opportunity assessments, and margin tracking to project managers and directors, enabling informed commercial decision-making and proactive mitigation actions.
  • Maintain Strong Client Relationships & Support Commercial Governance: Act as the primary financial liaison for clients, preparing account summaries, attending review meetings, managing queries, and ensuring contractual compliance across all financial touchpoints and service deliverables.
  • Ensure Robust Financial Controls, Compliance & Reporting Accuracy: Implement and maintain strict adherence to internal governance procedures, quality checks, policy compliance and audit requirements. Support improvements in financial processes, reporting standards and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must hold valid and relevant Accounting Qualifications
  • Must have 6+ years’ experience in a similar role on large scale construction projects (preferably Pharmaceutical projects)
  • Must be based within a commutable distance of North London
