Intermediate Mechanical Estimator Commercial Projects
An established M&E contractor in Central London is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Estimator to join their pre-construction team. Youll be working on a range of exciting commercial projects, preparing competitive tenders and supporting the businesss growth in the thriving London market.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an estimator with a few years experience looking to take the next step in their career, gain exposure to diverse projects, and develop under the guidance of experienced senior estimators and management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare mechanical cost estimates and tender submissions for commercial projects
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate costings
- Obtain competitive quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Prepare bills of quantities and schedule of rates
- Attend tender review meetings and present estimates to management
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to clarify scope and requirements
- Assist with value engineering and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain accurate records and tender databases
About You:
- 2+ years experience as a Mechanical Estimator within building services or M&E contracting
- Previous experience estimating mechanical systems for commercial projects (e.g. office fit-out, retail, leisure, mixed-use developments)
- Comfortable reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications
- Good understanding of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and public health installations
- Strong attention to detail and excellent numerical skills
- Confident communicator with good presentation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with estimation software advantageous
- Eligible to live and work in the UK
