Our client is a leading international contractor delivering complex, large-scale construction and engineering projects across the UK and Europe. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and high-quality project delivery, the company operates across a diverse range of sectors including power generation, advanced technology facilities, infrastructure, and mission-critical environments.
Due to continued growth across multiple sectors, our client is seeking an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team based in Leeds, supporting a portfolio of power generation and technology-focused projects.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of mechanical, electrical, and public health (MEP) packages, ensuring cost control, contract compliance, and financial performance across all project phases. Working closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and client representatives, the MEP Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in delivering projects on budget and in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all commercial aspects of MEP packages across multiple projects in the power generation and technology sectors
- Prepare, review, and manage budgets, cost plans, and forecasts
- Administer contracts in accordance with agreed terms and conditions
- Manage procurement processes, including tendering, evaluation, and appointment of subcontractors
- Review and value subcontractor applications, variations, and final accounts
- Monitor project costs and identify risks and opportunities to ensure financial targets are achieved
- Work closely with project teams to track progress against programme and cost plans
- Prepare and present commercial reports, cost updates, and financial forecasts
- Liaise with client representatives, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth commercial delivery
- Identify and manage commercial risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, contractual requirements, and industry standards
- Support the successful commercial close-out of projects
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as an MEP Quantity Surveyor on construction or engineering projects
- Experience within power generation, infrastructure, or technology/data centre sectors is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of MEP systems and associated cost management processes
- Experience in contract administration (e.g. NEC, JCT or similar forms of contract)
- Proven ability to manage subcontractor packages and commercial performance
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
