Civil Design Engineer Leeds Utilities
We are currently partnering with a globally present, multidisciplinary consultancy. With a current focus on the water market, they are currently seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to join their design team in Leeds to oversee projects across the Yorkshire region. This will be a Hybrid role working both from home and the Leeds office with occasionally site visits within the Yorkshire region.
Responsibilities
Design & Technical Delivery of Clean Water Infrastructure
Lead and support the design of clean water networks, pumping stations, trunk mains, service reservoirs, and associated civil infrastructureensuring designs meet DWI standards and Water Authority specifications.
Production of Drawings, Models & Calculations
Prepare detailed civil design drawings, 3D models (using Civil 3D or MicroDrainage/InfoWater), and engineering calculations for planning, tender, and construction phases. Ensure output aligns with quality procedures and project deadlines.
Stakeholder Coordination & Utility Liaison
Work collaboratively with internal multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and clients. Liaise with utility companies, local authorities, and regulators to secure design approvals and technical sign-offs.
Support on Feasibility Studies & Option Appraisals
Contribute to early-stage feasibility assessments, route selection, risk evaluation, and technical reports for water infrastructure upgrades and new developments.
Compliance with Industry & Environmental Standards
Ensure all designs comply with UK Water Industry Standards (WIS), Sewers for Adoption, and environmental regulations. Integrate sustainability, resilience, and whole-life costing into clean water design solutions.
Requirements
Must have Civil Engineering or similar degree level qualification
Must have 4+ years previous experience on water design
Must have UK Passport or RTW in the UK
