We are currently partnering with a globally recognised construction consultancy with a proven track record in a variety of industries. They have a healthy pipeline of works for years to come and due to continued growth are now seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join their team in London to aid with various commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Building Condition Surveys & Defect Diagnosis: Conduct thorough surveys of commercial properties to identify structural, fabric, and mechanical defects. Produce detailed and clear technical reports that inform client decision-making related to investment, refurbishment, or maintenance strategies.
- Dilapidations & Lease Compliance: Prepare, review, and negotiate schedules of dilapidations and condition reports on behalf of landlords and tenants. Advise clients on lease obligations, reinstatement requirements, and financial implications, supporting strategic planning and dispute resolution.
- Specification & Tender Preparation: Develop detailed specifications and tender documents for refurbishment, fit-out, and maintenance projects. Manage the tendering process including contractor selection, bid evaluation, and recommendation to clients to ensure value for money and quality standards.
- Contract Administration & Project Management: Oversee construction contract administration, including issuing instructions, progress monitoring, quality control, and cost management. Liaise with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required standards.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all projects comply with relevant building regulations, health and safety legislation, and industry standards. Conduct risk assessments and provide ongoing advice to mitigate potential issues throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Must have relevant degree level qualification
- Must have 5+ years’ experience working on commercial construction projects or similar for a Consultancy/Client
- Must have UK Passport or RTW in the UK
