BMS Engineer | Milan | Permanent Role in High-Profile Engineering Projects
An established engineering firm with a robust project pipeline across Europe is looking to appoint a BMS Engineer for a permanent position based in Milan. This is a dynamic opportunity to join a progressive company delivering technically complex, high-value projects in critical sectors like data centres, life sciences, and industrial infrastructure.
As a BMS Engineer, youll play a pivotal role in the coordination and delivery of building management systems on major construction projects. Youll work alongside a cross-functional engineering team to ensure project success from technical design and procurement through to commissioning and handover. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the coordination of technical design documentation with installation requirements across mechanical, electrical, and BMS scopes
- Attend project handover meetings and support project planning and execution strategies
- Prepare and review technical submittals, RFIs, and coordinated drawings for multi-disciplinary integration
- Manage the procurement process including requisitions, PO generation, and onsite delivery verification
- Interface with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical and commercial issues
- Conduct system walkdowns, support testing and commissioning processes, and ensure quality compliance through inspection and snagging
- Compile method statements, risk assessments, and test documentation packages
- Provide mentorship to junior team members and contribute to a high-performance culture on-site
- What Youll Need:
- Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent senior-level trade certification
- Minimum 4+ years of project engineering experience in BMS or mechanical systems delivery
- Proven track record on commercial, pharmaceutical, or data centre projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems design, coordination, and commissioning
- Competence in technical documentation, value engineering reviews, and cost-conscious decision-making
- Skilled communicator with the ability to lead meetings and liaise with diverse project stakeholders
- Knowledge of industry safety, environmental, and quality standards
- A process-driven mindset and a commitment to delivering excellence
