Job Description Mechanical EngineerLocation: Blyth, North East EnglandSector: Data Centres / Mission CriticalProject: £10bn Hyperscale Data Centre CampusOur client is a leading international main contractor delivering some of Europe's most advanced hyperscale and mission-critical data centre developments. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join the delivery team on a landmark £10bn hyperscale data centre campus in Blyth, North East England.This flagship development, one of the largest data centre campuses in Europe, will be delivered over the next decade and represents one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in the delivery of complex mechanical systems, ensuring works are executed safely, to the highest quality standards and in line with programme requirements.Working closely with Project Managers, MEP Construction Managers, subcontractors, design teams and client representatives, you will coordinate mechanical installation activities, manage technical interfaces and support the successful delivery of critical mechanical infrastructure through to commissioning and handover.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the delivery of mechanical engineering works across the projectCoordinate mechanical subcontractors and specialist installation teamsReview drawings, technical specifications and installation methodologiesEnsure mechanical works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest quality standardsCoordinate interfaces between mechanical, electrical, CSA and commissioning teamsMonitor installation progress and support recovery plans where requiredManage RFIs, technical queries and design coordination activitiesOversee inspections, testing, quality assurance and system readinessSupport procurement, material management and construction planningAttend coordination meetings and provide regular progress updatesIdentify construction risks and implement practical engineering solutionsSupport commissioning, integrated systems testing and final project handoverRequirementsProven experience as a Mechanical Engineer on major construction projectsPrevious experience delivering hyperscale data centres, mission-critical facilities, pharmaceutical, industrial or large-scale commercial developmentsStrong understanding of HVAC, chilled water, pipework, public health and mechanical building servicesExperience managing mechanical subcontractors within multidisciplinary project environmentsGood knowledge of construction sequencing, QA/QC and commissioning processesAbility to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentationStrong communication, organisational and problem-solving skillsDegree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services EngineeringCSCS qualificationExperience working within complex, fast-paced construction environmentsPackageHighly competitive salary + comprehensive packageRotation / Accommodation / Living allowance / Travel allowanceBonus / Car allowance / Private healthcare / Enhanced pension / Life assuranceLong-term opportunity on one of Europe's largest hyperscale data centre developmentsThis is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the UK's most significant digital infrastructure programmes and contribute to the delivery of a landmark £10bn, 10-year hyperscale data centre campus .
