Our client is a growing Managed Service Provider supporting over 550 customers across the region and they are seeking an experienced and customer-focused IT & Telecoms Engineer to join their team based on the outskirts of Manchester.
The successful candidate will provide high-quality IT and telecoms support to their client base, combining remote ticket resolution with on-site engineering visits. You will also play a leadership role by supporting and mentoring two junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support & Engineering
- Manage and resolve IT and telecoms support tickets in line with SLAs
- Diagnose and fix network, connectivity, and hardware issues
- Install, configure, and maintain IT and telecoms infrastructure
- Support services including leased lines, laptops, routers, firewalls, switches, and Wi-Fi
- Carry out on-site visits to customer premises when required
- Telecoms Services
- Order, provision, and configure telecoms services for new and existing customers
- Support connectivity services such as broadband, leased lines, VoIP, and mobile solutions
- Work with suppliers and carriers to ensure timely and accurate delivery
- Customer Service
- Provide clear, professional communication to customers
- Deliver a high level of service and build trusted relationships
- Ensure issues are resolved efficiently and to a high standard
- Team Leadership
- Provide day-to-day support and guidance to two junior engineers
- Assist with training, development, and technical escalation
- Contribute to improving processes and service delivery
- Essential:
- Previous experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP)
- Strong knowledge of IT and telecoms systems
- Experience in diagnosis, repairs, maintenance, and installations
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Desirable:
- Experience with networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, firewalls)
- Experience with VoIP and connectivity services
- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior staff
- Professional and customer-focused
- Organised with strong time management skills
- Proactive and solutions-driven
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced MSP environment
- Competitive salary of £30,000-£35,000 DOE
