How to prepare for a job interview at LJ Recruitment

    ✨Know Your Numbers

As a Revenue Controller, you'll be dealing with figures all day long. Brush up on your numerical skills and be ready to discuss how you've managed aged work in progress (WIP) or produced billing forecasts in your previous roles. Being able to talk confidently about your experience will impress the interviewers.

    ✨Familiarise Yourself with Legal Billing

Since this role is within a law firm, it's crucial to understand the nuances of legal billing and the Solicitor's Accounts Rules. Do some research on these topics and be prepared to discuss how you’ve ensured compliance in your past positions. This shows that you’re not just qualified but also genuinely interested in the legal sector.

    ✨Showcase Your Communication Skills

You'll need to liaise with partners and fee earners regularly, so highlight your communication skills during the interview. Prepare examples of how you've effectively chased overdue invoices or resolved issues with clients. This will demonstrate your ability to maintain strong relationships while managing revenue.

    ✨Be Ready for Scenario Questions

Expect scenario-based questions that test your problem-solving abilities. Think about times when you've had to escalate problem debts or manage outstanding debts. Practising your responses to these types of questions can help you articulate your thought process clearly and show your proactive approach.
