The Transport Router supports the Transport Team in planning and coordinating the logistics of waste collection and transportation activities. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient daily operations, accurate record-keeping, and high levels of customer satisfaction, while maintaining compliance with health and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Schedule and coordinate daily waste collection routes to ensure efficient operations
- Liaise with drivers to communicate instructions, monitor progress, and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Handle customer enquiries related to transport services in a professional and timely manner
- Promote a positive health and safety culture by following procedures and participating in training and briefings
- Assist with weighbridge operations, including accurate documentation and waste transfer notes
- Represent the organisation professionally across all business activities
Qualifications / Experience
- Previous experience in transportation or logistics (experience within waste management is desirable but not essential)
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving skills, particularly when responding to unexpected operational challenges
- Valid UK driving licence
