Location: Colchester, Essex (Hythe Area)

Salary: £40,000 per annum | Full-time | Permanent

Working Hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm

About the Company:

Our client is a well-established manufacturing business with approximately 25 employees, supplying specialist products across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an organised and proactive Office Manager to support the smooth running of the business.

The Role:

This is a varied, hands-on role overseeing office operations, purchasing, ERP/MRP system administration, and general business support. The successful candidate will work closely with multiple departments to help maintain efficient day-to-day operations. Initially, there will be no direct reports, although there is potential for 1-2 existing staff members to move under the role in the future.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raise and manage purchase orders and supplier communications
  • Maintain accurate records within the ERP/MRP system
  • Support stock, purchasing, and operational administration
  • Coordinate office systems, IT support, and equipment
  • Support finance administration, payroll coordination, and reporting
  • Maintain office records, compliance documentation, and health & safety administration
  • Assist with onboarding/offboarding and general office management duties

Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • Previous experience in an Office Manager, Operations, or Administration role
  • Experience using ERP/MRP systems is essential
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Good Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with strong attention to detail
  • Practical, proactive, and hands-on approach

Desirable:

  • Experience within manufacturing, engineering, or production environments
  • Understanding of purchasing, invoices, and finance administration
  • Experience coordinating IT providers or office systems

Salary & Benefits:

  • £40,000 salary
  • 32 days holiday inclusive of bank holidays
