We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Relationship Support Officer (RSO) to join our Islamic Banking team at our Tooting branch. The Relationship Support Officer will support the Relationship & Branch Manager in delivering an excellent standard of customer service, client onboarding, AML/KYC compliance, branch operations and administrative support. This is a varied, customer-facing role that will involve working closely with customers and internal teams to ensure requests are handled efficiently, accurately and in line with regulatory and internal requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a first point of contact for customer enquiries by telephone, email and face-to-face.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service and ensure customer requests are resolved promptly.
  • Support the Relationship & Branch Manager with customer meetings, follow-ups and correspondence.
  • Build positive and professional relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Process cash deposits and withdrawals in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support day-to-day branch operational controls and processes.
  • Process new customer onboarding requests.
  • Complete AML, KYC and Customer Due Diligence requirements for new and existing customers.
  • Ensure customer information and documentation are maintained accurately and securely.
  • Administer locker opening, renewals, closures and customer access procedures.
  • Ensure locker-related activities are carried out in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Relationship & Branch Manager with credit administration activities.
  • Gather and upload customer and facility documentation onto relevant systems.
  • Liaise with Credit Administration, Operations and other internal teams regarding documentation and processing requirements.
  • Track documentation and approvals and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with the preparation of branch management information and reports.
  • Produce periodic reports and management information as required.
  • Work proactively with Branch Operations, Credit and other internal functions to support customer requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in banking or branch operations.
  • A degree-level qualification.
  • An understanding of AML, KYC and Customer Due Diligence requirements.
  • Knowledge of branch operations and banking procedures.
  • Strong customer service and client-facing skills.
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using banking systems.
