Contracts Paralegal - 6 Month FTC Location: London Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract Sector: Legal / Law Firm Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience The Opportunity We are working with a leading international law firm that is seeking a Contracts Paralegal to join their in-house legal function on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a legally trained professional looking to gain valuable in-house experience within a leading law firm, with exposure to commercial contracts, legal procurement, supplier management and contract lifecycle management. The successful candidate will work closely with the firm's Legal team and a variety of Business Professional functions, supporting the management of the firm's third-party supplier relationships and ensuring contracts are effectively managed throughout their lifecycle. This is a varied and stakeholder-focused role, suited to a proactive and highly organised Paralegal who is comfortable managing multiple matters and working with senior stakeholders across the business. Key Responsibilities Support the firm's in-house Legal team with the management and administration of commercial and supplier contracts. Assist with the onboarding of new third-party suppliers, including reviewing supplier questionnaires and supporting documentation. Work closely with Information Security and Data Privacy teams to ensure prospective suppliers meet the firm's data protection, information security and regulatory requirements. Liaise with the Legal team, Business Professional teams and other internal stakeholders to understand requirements and timelines relating to the implementation, renewal, extension and termination of supplier contracts. Provide practical support and guidance to stakeholders throughout the firm's legal procurement process. Maintain accurate supplier and contract records within the firm's HighQ contract management system. Upload and maintain UK supplier records, contracts and associated documentation. Manage the legal procurement matter intake mailbox and maintain the active matter tracker. Coordinate with relevant Business Professional teams to ensure contract-related actions and deliverables are completed within agreed timescales. Monitor key contractual dates, including expiry, renewal, extension and notice periods, ensuring appropriate stakeholders are alerted. Support the ongoing maintenance and development of the firm's contract lifecycle management processes. Work with Business Professional teams to identify and capture existing UK supplier contracts within the contract management system. Assist with updating supplier questionnaires, templates and other documentation used throughout the legal procurement process. Support training and guidance for Business Professional teams on the firm's legal procurement processes and contract management system. Assist with wider projects and initiatives undertaken by the Legal team. About You We are looking for a highly organised and commercially minded Contracts Paralegal who is keen to develop their experience within an in-house legal environment. You will have excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload while working to competing deadlines. You should be confident liaising with stakeholders across the firm, including senior management and Business Professional teams. The ideal candidate will have: A UK law degree or Commonwealth equivalent. Previous experience as a Paralegal, ideally with exposure to commercial contracts, supplier agreements or procurement. A good understanding of commercial law and contracts. An interest in working in an in-house legal function within a law firm. Excellent research and analytical skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management abilities. Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. The ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The ability to quickly learn and navigate bespoke legal and document management systems. Experience with HighQ and/or iManage would be advantageous. Why Apply?
