The Role

As a Conveyancing Paralegal, you'll play an important role within the Residential Property department, providing essential support to an experienced team of conveyancing professionals. Working on a varied caseload, you'll help ensure property transactions progress efficiently from instruction through to completion while delivering a first-class experience for clients. This role is ideal for someone with at least two years' experience in residential conveyancing who is highly organised, proactive and enjoys building strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike. You'll work closely with fee earners, developers, mortgage brokers and third parties, helping to keep matters moving and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the first point of contact for clients, developers, brokers and other parties involved in residential property transactions.
  • Processing new client onboarding documentation.
  • Carrying out identity verification and anti-money laundering checks.
  • Reviewing proof of funds and source of funds documentation.
  • Progressing new instructions through the early stages of transactions.
  • Supporting new build conveyancing matters.
  • Working within InfoTrack (full training provided where required).
  • Ordering and reviewing Local Authority, Chancel and other property searches.
  • Preparing completion statements.
  • Managing Lifetime ISA (LISA) and Help to Buy ISA withdrawals.
  • Using NHBC warranty portals where required.
  • Preparing Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT) forms.
  • Preparing Land Registry documentation.
  • Assisting with exchange and completion processes.
  • Providing administrative support across the conveyancing team.
  • Supporting multiple fee earners with day-to-day case progression.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and files.
  • Working collaboratively to achieve team targets and key performance indicators.

About You

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and motivated Conveyancing Paralegal who enjoys working as part of a supportive team and takes pride in delivering excellent client service. You'll ideally have:

  • A minimum of two years' experience in a Residential Property Paralegal or Conveyancing Assistant role.
  • Solid understanding of the residential conveyancing process.
  • Experience supporting fee earners with a busy caseload.
  • Knowledge of AML requirements and client onboarding.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence communicating with clients and third parties by telephone and email.
  • A professional, friendly and approachable manner.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence learning new systems.
  • Previous case management software experience (desirable but not essential).
  • A genuine commitment to providing outstanding client care.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
