The Role
As a Road Freight Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing customer accounts and ensuring road freight operations run efficiently from booking through to successful delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of key customer accounts, ensuring excellent service and long-term client relationships.
- Monitor account performance against budgets, forecasts, and key performance indicators.
- Analyse financial and operational performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate customer shipments from initial booking through to final delivery.
- Maintain high service standards across existing accounts.
- Select the most suitable carriers and hauliers to maximise service levels and profitability.
- Support the onboarding and integration of new customer business.
- Work closely with internal departments including Operations, Customs, Transport, and Finance to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify commercial opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with customers, including occasional site visits where required.
