This organisation is a fast-growing AV, UC and workplace technology integrator, delivering vendor-agnostic collaboration solutions across the UK. Projects range from meeting rooms and hybrid workplace rollouts to enterprise multi-site deployments. The business forms part of a wider AV group, alongside an established UK AV hardware reseller with over 20 years of successful trading, providing strong commercial backing and excellent supplier relationships.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious Account Manager / Business Development Manager to drive growth across the company's end-user customer base. This is a key role within a new and rapidly expanding division. It will suit either a developing AV/UC sales professional ready to step up, or an experienced salesperson looking to escape corporate constraints and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. This is not a role for someone looking to coast - the successful candidate will need energy, commitment and a strong work ethic to succeed.
This is primarily an office-based role, with the Wokingham office as the daily base when not visiting customers. Even where meetings take place in London or elsewhere, the expectation is that the successful candidate will return to the office where practical. The organisation operates with a flat structure, constant communication and a highly collaborative working culture.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and grow end-user accounts across corporate and commercial sectors
- Identify and win new business through proactive engagement and relationship-building
- Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers
- Translate customer needs into AV/UC and workplace technology solutions
- Prepare proposals and commercial offers with support from technical teams
- Sell both project-based solutions and support/managed service offerings
- Maintain accurate CRM, forecasting and pipeline reporting
- Represent the business at client meetings, partner engagements and industry events
The successful candidate must have end-user AV/UC sales experience and a proven ability to build strong customer relationships. This role is not suited to candidates from distribution or vendor-only backgrounds unless they can demonstrate exceptional end-user connections and a strong track record of direct sales success. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in account management and/or business development
- Strong negotiation, presentation and communication skills
- A proactive, commercially driven mindset
- CRM and pipeline management capability
- A sales-level understanding of AV/UC technology (features, benefits and possibilities)
- Experience selling services/support contracts (advantageous)
The candidate does not need to be the finished article - attitude, drive and ambition are equally important, supported by strong internal engineering and design resource.
What's on Offer- Salary 35,000 - 45,000 plus commission (OTE 80,000)
- A key growth role within a rapidly expanding AV integrator
- Opportunity to build and shape a customer portfolio
- A cash-rich, independently owned business with excellent vendor partnerships
- Fast decision-making, autonomy and strong internal support
- Strong long-term career development for high performers
