Our client, a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing company based in Essex is currently seeking an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to join their growing production team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys working with precision components in plastics and metals and takes pride in producing high-quality engineering work in a busy workshop environment.
As a Manual Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for operating manual lathes to manufacture precision parts while working from technical drawings and CAD models. The role will involve machine setup, machining operations, and quality inspection to ensure all components meet required specifications.
- Operating manual lathes to produce precision-engineered components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models
- Carrying out grinding, milling, and assembly tasks where required
- Setting up machines and adjusting tooling to maintain accuracy and efficiency
- Performing quality inspections using measuring equipment such as calipers and micrometers
- Proven experience operating manual lathes within a machining or engineering environment
- Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
- Experience using hand tools and workshop machinery
This is a full time, permanent position working Monday-Friday with an early finish at the end of the week. They are paying a competitive salary and the role comes with holiday, pension, free on-site parking, employee discounts, company events, on-site canteen, and much more.
