An established and growing international logistics provider is seeking an experienced European Operations Coordinator to join its busy European Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in transport and logistics who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering outstanding customer service. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating European freight movements, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring the smooth delivery of services across multiple departments.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience within a transport, freight, or logistics operations role is essential.
- Experience in a customer service or administrative position is desirable.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Strong IT skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy when handling operational data.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work well within a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and overseas partners to ensure efficient service delivery, including providing regular shipment updates and estimated arrival times.
- Coordinate with internal departments, including Customs, Transport, and Warehouse teams, to ensure the smooth movement of customer shipments.
- Create and manage shipments using a Transport Management System (TMS).
- Review customer documentation and invoices to support UK and EU customs compliance.
- Prepare load lists, manifests, and customs instructions while identifying and resolving any discrepancies during the loading process.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer and partner enquiries.
- Arrange special collections and liaise with third-party transport providers to resolve operational issues.
- Work closely with colleagues to improve processes and maintain high service standards.
