Job Description
We're looking for a Press Assistant to join an established and growing print production team in York.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in print, manufacturing or production or someone with a genuine interest in developing their technical skills within the print industry.
Working alongside experienced Press Operators, you'll play an important role in keeping production running smoothly, ensuring finished products meet the highest standards of quality and consistency.
What will you be doing?
- Assisting with the setup and operation of printing presses
- Preparing and loading paper, inks and other production materials
- Supporting press operators throughout printing runs
- Checking print quality, colour, alignment and consistency
- Identifying defects and reporting issues to senior operators
- Carrying out basic cleaning and maintenance of press equipment
- Organising completed print jobs and preparing materials for the next stage
- Maintaining accurate production and job records
- Keeping the production area clean, organised and safe
- Following all company health & safety and quality procedures
- Working as part of a close-knit production team to achieve deadlines and customer requirements
What are we looking for?
Ideally, you'll have some knowledge or experience of offset printing processes or working with printing presses.
