Our client is looking for a motivated and skilled Service Technician to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an electrical or mechanical background who enjoys hands-on work, problem-solving, and the chance to travel across the UK and Europe. As a Service Technician, you will play a key role in maintaining and servicing their fleet of power generation equipment, helping to ensure reliable performance for customers across a variety of industries.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Servicing, maintaining, and inspecting diesel generators ranging from 30kVa to 220kVa
- Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical faults
- Supporting installations, commissioning, and operational activities at customer sites
- Working from Colchester as your primary base
- Travelling to sites throughout the UK and Europe, often at short notice
- Participating in offshore projects when required
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and customer service
What We're Looking For:
- A strong electrical or mechanical background (essential)
- Experience fault-finding and repairing diesel generators (highly desirable)
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- Based in Colchester or the surrounding area
- Flexibility to travel and work away from home across the UK and overseas when required
- A proactive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
